The Story So Far

How NPC Began

NPC was established in December 2021 as a platform built on two goals. Grassroot engagement for the direct benefit of end beneficiaries, and research driven, theme based social initiatives delivered in partnership with like minded organisations for indirect benefit, so long as these engagements offer sustainability and genuine social wellness impact.

From 2007 to 2017, our group, comprising the NGO and our commercial outlet, focused on short term projects with lasting impact.

Key initiatives included the Mid Day Meal project off Mumbai, providing meals to over 25,000 school children, and ownership of the British Bookshop in Vienna, Austria.

We also presented a poster at the World Library Congress in Cape Town, South Africa, for the Wizdoms Library Project, and partnered with Rotary Club Pan India, through which the Wizdoms Library Project procured 80 tons of books, distributed across 900 village schools. The project was declared the Best Literacy Library Project of India by Rotary India.

During this period, we also mobilised humanitarian aid for Ukraine, including medicines and small equipment, through partnerships with Rotary chapters in Romania, Ukraine and India.

Each expedition is thoughtfully planned with participation from members of the HKC Think Tank, scholars, and special invitees from India and overseas. Participants engage directly in ground level experiences, discussions and one on one interactions.

Alongside these activities, our team has had valuable opportunities to meet and exchange ideas with heads of organisations, administrators and spiritual leaders encountered along the way, as well as deliver lectures on their areas of expertise to university students and corporate audiences.

Each expedition also offers firsthand field exposure to the core themes and focus areas of the HKC Expedition, enriched further by visits to several exclusive and revered places along the journey.

Our first major initiative was HKC Expedition 01. We acquired and owned the sailboat Gregal for Commander Abhilash’s solo circumnavigation of the globe in the GGR 2022 Race, with ownership later transferring to sponsor Bayanat prior to the race.

In 2025, we conducted HKC Expeditions 02, 03 and 04 to 05 (Leg 1) by land, covering the whole of India, each built around our core HKC themes. This was followed by our attendance at the UN Ocean Science Summit in Nice, France.

Our next expedition is planned by sea, travelling from Lorient, France, to Pondicherry, India, across West Africa, in late 2026.
