Expedition 05 spans from Northwest to Northeast India, covering diverse landscapes and cultures from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. The route traverses Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Bhutan, Assam and finally Arunachal Pradesh, covering an approximate distance of 4,000 kilometres, broadly divided into 4 legs.
Leg 1 covered Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. A small team of six participants undertook this expedition. The photo gallery for Leg 1 documents the segment from Jammu to Srinagar to Leh, capturing the unique essence of this region, which also took the team through the greater Himalayas and several mountain passes, the highest reaching [altitude to be confirmed] metres.
Leg 1 of the expedition commenced on 12th September 2025 from Jammu, and successfully concluded on 22nd September 2025 at Leh, marking a remarkable ten day journey. During this phase, the HKC team visited several academic institutions and actively participated in the Indian Knowledge System Conference, held in Leh on 18th September 2025.
