The first land based HKC Expedition, Expedition 02, commenced from Mumbai, coinciding with the birthday of The Mother, co-founder of Auroville, Pondicherry. The journey was enriched by the participation of five French travellers from Normandy, France, journeying in a 7 seater Fortuner SUV, accompanied by a mini truck carrying a month’s worth of logistics and a dedicated chef. The team enjoyed freshly prepared meals en route, with stays arranged in hotels and ashrams along the way. The entire journey proved to be a resounding success, leaving every participant deeply satisfied and fulfilled.
The journey took place across India, following the route from Mumbai to the Himalayas (Dharamshala), and then onward to Pondicherry. Over the course of the expedition 30 days, the team covered approximately 7,200 kilometres, visiting 25 destinations along the way. A total of 10 participants took part, five from India and five from France, representing a true collaborative effort between the two countries. The entire initiative was conducted as a case study and pilot project, aimed at exploring and documenting diverse experiences and learnings gathered throughout the journey.
